We get this one all the time! So, our name originated from one of the founders of the company.
Before the company was a tree and landscaping service two of the founders were still in College and were picking coconuts for free and selling them to try and make a few extra dollars while in school. Well, that proved successful as some of the client's properties that 0they would pick coconuts from would ask them to trim their trees or help them with some landscaping. They didn't know much about either service however they took classes, received their licenses and hired others with the skills to start helping them build. Fast forward to today and Coconuts for College is a multi-faceted licensed company that has a fully operational landscaping division, tree division, and junk removal division. Hiring younger qualified individuals and students is something we strive for. Along with our Veteran backing, we as a team are always striving not just to be better as a company but to build our team members into great men and women in this society. We are always thankful to the South Florida community and especially the coconut trees!
We have all of the necessary licenses for our area, and we carry insurance for all of our projects.
Some larger construction projects require special licenses and certifications. We have trusted members of the landscaping community that we work with for those special cases.
Coconut Trees and trees in general are technically supposed to be trimmed in the winter. However, as storm seasons approach quickly in South Florida and our schedule books up even quicker, we recommend having your Coconut trees on either a reoccurring two or three times a year trimming schedule depending on where your tree is located. Something to think about when deciding whether to trim your coconut trees or not...Falling Coconuts kill more people per year than sharks. Coconuts trees are beautiful, but if not maintained they can be deadly.
